Organic shade coffee
Cesmach Coffee is the result of the work of over 470 small farmers in the Ecological Farmers’ Cooperative of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, offering top quality coffee from Chiapas.
In 1994, CESMACH coffee obtained organic coffee certification and in 2000, it was certified as fair trade coffee. For farmers who choose to stop using agrochemicals and fertilizers and switch to organic farming, the benefits are obvious: a quintal of organic coffee brings in 25% more than a quintal of conventional coffee.
CESMACH partners cultivate coffee plants that grow under the shade of trees, protecting the soil in the buffer zone of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve from erosion.
Cesmach coffee

Certified organic coffee, 100% Arabica with typica, bourbon and caturra varietals. In the cup, you can taste the classic balance of high-grown coffees: full-bodied and creamy with citrus acidity and floral, caramel and chocolaty notes.
Each of the processes is carried out with great care. The coffee is grown organically, without chemicals and agroecological practices are used.
The coffee is first wet processed, classified according to its properties during the dry processing stage and then carefully selected for roasting, all of which ensures a quality product.
The Cooperative
CSMACH began in 1992 with 20 members from five communities in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. It now comprises 478 members living in 35 communities in the municipalities of Ángel Albino Corzo, Siltepec, Montecristo de Guerrero and La Concordia.

In 1996, CESMACH developed a five-year plan to become an exporter, purchase a warehouse and vehicles, and settle farmers’ bank debts so that they could qualify for credit. All of this was achieved.
